Fashion designer Trina Turk is the California cool-girl whose designs embody the bright, bold and modern lifestyle of West Coast. However, her aesthetic translates worldwide to the effortlessly chic woman who does carefree glamour with confidence.
I caught up with this ultra-on-the-go femme, who’s on her way to icon status, for a quick Q&A, and loved learning everything from who she considers American fashion icons to her fave quote.
And, aside from carrying the Trina Turk collection year round you may like to know that L. Boutique & L. Spa proprietor Lee Ann Swor has arranged for a fabulous Trina Turk trunk show to celebrate ten years of October 6-11…stay tuned for that and other stylishly unmissable events.//Click Here for More @SarasotaMagazine.com
They say in 2003 the irreverently cool emerging brand called Moods of Norway was born in the creative cellars of the picturesque town of Stryn, Norway; population 6,750. From there, three locals culled their talent, Simen Staalnacke, Peder Børresen and Stefan Dahlkvist to “make happy clothes for happy people around the world.” Still headquartered in Stryn, this polished brand is making it’s way into the closets of the coolest men and women that live the don’t-wait-up-for-us-life.//Click Here for more @SarasotaMagazine.com

Highlighting the works of iconic prêt-a-porter to haute couture houses is quickly becoming the exhibition theme of the moment, one that’s in demand. Wisely, the curators at The Ringling have arranged for one close to home titled Icons of Style, in collaboration with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. // Click Here for More @SarasotaMagazine.com

Well, you had to know it was coming….a reflection and report on Fashion Week. The challenge with this blog was how to organize the coveted chaos of fashion’s biggest week. Frankly, it’s almost more than a girl can process into some form of cohesive shorthand.
So, to keep it light and take the edge off, here’s my couture compendium, complete with links to my fave designer slideshows and video clips.
You’ll get a clear picture on trends. Not to worry, no grand and brand new style revelations were introduced. But it will come as no surprise that color, prints, leather and jumpsuits have traction in the sartorial universe. And, if you’ve been asleep at the wheel while sequins were creeping around the bend, heads up: You’ll need something sparkly this season. // Click Here for MORE @ SarasotaMagazine.com
